Hello, my name is Emily Gould and I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) who graduated locally from Florida International University. A social worker chooses to prioritize clients’ needs to promote significant positive change. I am passionate to uphold this mission daily!
I have experience in therapy, hospital trauma and crisis stabilization, in addition, to many humanitarian organizations. I have had clients with a wide range of concerns, including, but not limited to anxiety, grief and loss, trauma, overcoming obstacles and discrimination associated with intellectual disabilities, depression, relationship issues, aging issues and career challenges. I have also worked with groups regarding chronic illness, care fatigue, as well as grief and loss.
My therapy style is considerate and interactive. I believe in treating clients with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. I strive to meet my clients where they are in their therapy journey. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, solution-focused, polyvagal and trauma-informed approaches.
The quote “The limits of my language mean the limits of my world” -Ludwig Wittgenstein holds truth when approaching issues through the cognitive-behavioral lens. Everyone has a unique story and unique interpretation of their world; an eclectic or mixed approach of therapies can be effective for many. I will adapt our sessions and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs.
It takes courage and strength to consider therapy. If you are ready to begin your healing journey, I am here to support and empower you.
