Introduction
My name is Mark McAlpin and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. My approach is empathetic, compassionate and respectful. I am influenced by spiritual principles and believe that spirituality or religion can positively compliment evidence based treatment models. I am LBGTQ+ affirming. I have extensive experience in treating Substance Use Disorders, as well as common co-occurring disorders like Depressive Disorders, Bipolar Disorders, Anxiety Disorders, Obsessive Compulsive Disorders, and Trauma and Stress Disorders. I have a Client Centered Perspective and believe that people have the capacity and ability within them to effect lasting change. I believe in a collaborative therapeutic relationship that with achieve the client’s desired change by strengthening the client’s motivation and unearthing tools and techniques that will facilitate growth.
