Alicia Valerio, LMHC - Therapist in Hollywood, FL

Introduction

I’m a licensed therapist who works with adults navigating life transitions, depression, anxiety, relationship challenges, ADHD, and the stress that can come with simply trying to manage day-to-day life. My approach combines Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), person-centered techniques, and mindfulness-based practices to help clients better understand themselves, shift unhelpful patterns, and build practical tools for change.

I aim to create a space that’s nonjudgmental and practical—where you're met with honesty, perspective, and tools you can actually use outside of the therapy room. Therapy with me isn’t about quick fixes, but about helping you develop clarity, insight, and the ability to respond to challenges in more intentional ways.

I keep the work collaborative and grounded. I'm not here to give you all the answers, but to help you sort through what’s getting in the way, identify what matters, and move forward in a way that aligns with who you are and how you want to live.

Whether you're feeling disconnected, overwhelmed, or just unsure of what comes next, we'll work together to make sense of what's happening and figure out what feels right for you.

What can I expect in my first few sessions with Alicia?

To have a nonjudgemental and supportive space to discuss what brought you to therapy and what you're hoping for.

What makes you different from other therapists?

I bring cultural humility and a deep respect for each person’s unique background, helping clients feel understood in the context of their identities and lived experiences — and when it's right, I use humor as a gentle, humanizing way to connect and ease the weight of tough conversations.

What inspired you to become a therapist?

My path to becoming a therapist was shaped by a lifelong curiosity about the complexities of human behavior, and a deep belief in our ability to heal, grow, and find our way—even when things feel really hard.
