Meet Rachel Pittell, PMHNP-BC
Hi, I’m so glad you’re here. I’m a psychiatric nurse practitioner who works with children, teens, and adults to support mental health across all stages of life. Whether you’re a parent seeking help for your child, a teen navigating big emotions and identity questions, or an adult feeling stuck or overwhelmed, my role is to offer thoughtful, compassionate care that meets you where you are.
I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, OCD, ADHD, trauma, life transitions and more. These can show up in different ways: restlessness, irritability, emotional shutdown, panic attacks, trouble focusing, or feeling like you’re never quite “doing enough.” Whether the challenges are new or long-standing, mild or more complex, I aim to help clients make sense of what they’re experiencing and find the right tools to move forward.
As a psychiatric nurse practitioner, I bring both a medical and therapeutic lens to care. This means I can provide comprehensive assessments, talk therapy, and medication management when needed. I believe strongly in a collaborative approach as you are the expert on your experience, and I’m here to support you in understanding what’s happening in your mind and body, and to explore options together.
I also work closely with families, particularly when children or teens are struggling. Kids often communicate their distress through behavior, not words, and I strive to create a space where both children and caregivers feel supported, informed, and empowered.
What makes my work meaningful is seeing clients begin to feel more confident and connected to themselves and to the people around them. Mental health care isn’t about “fixing” something broken, it’s about understanding how your brain works, honoring your story, and building a toolbox of strategies that actually fit your life.
If you’re exploring mental health support for yourself or a loved one, here’s a reminder: you don’t have to wait until things feel unmanageable. Early support can prevent issues from becoming crises, and there is no shame in asking for help. One small step like reading this or scheduling a consultation can open the door to real change.
Whether you're navigating big emotions, daily stress, or deeper questions about how to move forward, I’m here to walk alongside you with empathy, clinical expertise, and a deep respect for your journey.
