Amanda’s Five Habits for Success

board-1097118_960_720             Over the years, I’ve learned that there are five key things I do on a regular basis in order to be successful.  In the last three years, I’ve been able to start a private practice, leave my full-time job and create a thriving 6-figures counseling office in Pembroke Pines, working mainly with people in their 20’s and 30’s who want to feel empowered in their lives and learn how to live their dreams. In order to be successful in my dreams, I had to dream big while also doing the following things: 1. Write down your goals and review them on a regular basis I keep a journal with my goals and dreams and wishes.   I’ve started writing a gratitude list for things that haven’t happened in my life but I KNOW will.  In addition to personal goals, I also have a business plan that drives my decisions around my business. 2. Exercise on a regular basis Keep the endorphins high is an ultimate goal of mine.  I exercise 3-5 times a week, every week.  This might include long walks on the beach or short walks through my neighborhood with my dog but I make it a priority to exercise.  Doing yoga once a week helps keep me balanced. 3. Reading everything! Read everyday and read often and read widely.  I learned just as much from reading Harry Potter as I have reading any therapy book or business book.  Reading is a wonderful habit and one you should and could be addicted to. 4. Keep running lists Keeping lists of everything helps keep me on track.  I’ve got lists for the day, week, month and year.  I keep lists of long-term and short-term projects.  Using the notes in my phone has proved to be extremely effective.  I also feel great when I’m able to check something off of my list. 5. Work smart, not hard This is more of a motto than a specific tool for success.  Whenever I am sitting down to tackle something, I always look at taking a direct route.  I like to be efficient because it allows me to get more accomplished.  Look for ways to improve efficiency and efficacy in your tasks and you’ll propel your life.
Habits for success For me, putting these five steps into action has helped me succeed in life and in business.  What are your tips for success that my readers would benefit from?  Comment below and let us know.
