Christine Porges is a Registered Marriage & Family Therapy Intern, specializing in Bowen Family Systems Theory. She holds a master’s degree in Marriage & Family Therapy from Nova Southeastern University and a bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education.
Christine works with individuals, couples, and families who are struggling with challenging issues such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship conflict, grief and loss, and chronic medical illness. She thoughtfully understands that seeking help can be difficult and offers a safe, non-judgmental, and compassionate space for her clients to feel supported throughout their counseling journey.
Christine’s clinical experience includes working in a variety of mental health settings such as in-patient behavioral health, residential treatment centers, and geriatric services. Throughout her clinical experience, Christine has specialized in working with premarital couples and believes that couples seeking therapy prior to marriage will offer the opportunity to build a greater and more solid foundation for healthier communication and conflict resolution skills.
In utilizing a Bowen Family Systems Theory approach, Christine will work with you to explore your family dynamics and how they shape your views about relationships. Her goal is to work with clients on creating more balanced and fulfilling relationships with important others.
