Alyse McKeal, LCSW

Welcome! I am looking forward to working together.

My name is Alyse McKeal, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I earned my Master of Social Work degree (MSW) from Florida Atlantic University. I also have a Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) degree from the University of South Florida.

I provide a gentle, supportive, and non-judgmental atmosphere to engage in therapeutic work. I work with individuals (all ages), couples, and all types of families to improve their lives, relationships, communication, and coping skills. I love working with children and parents, and am currently working on my certification in Play Therapy. I also have extensive experience working with individuals doing family systems work.  I am a level one trained Gottman therapist which I use with couples in their therapy. I work with clients and parents of my child clients to identify their needs and to develop manageable goals. I utilize compassion, kindness, and warmth in working with my clients in meeting their desired goals.

I stand in support and as an advocate of diversity. I am an ally of the L.G.B.T.Q.I.A+  community, as well as a supportive and empowering therapist.

My approach to therapy is grounded in attachment and family systems theory. I also work from a strengths based, multicultural, and client-centered therapeutic approach. I utilize play therapy techniques when working with children, parents, and families. I also implement eclectic techniques in therapy including: CBT, Non-Violent Communication, EMDR, Inner child work, DBT and Psychodrama. I utilize such expressive therapeutic approaches as Journaling, Art, Play, and Sand Tray Therapy. I incorporate mindfulness including relaxation techniques, breath work, meditation, and the mind/body connection into my therapeutic work. Several of these modalities are effective and gentle methods to address trauma and attachment concerns, adjustment issues, anxiety, depression, unresolved childhood issues, grief and loss, and other difficult life issues.

I offer therapy sessions online and in person. I provide daytime, evening, and weekend hours to be flexible in meeting your scheduling needs.
